Anthony Jeselnik

Anthony Jeselnik’s 2010 album, Shakespeare, paints the stand-up as a horrible human being: He cracks wise about sexually harassing his coworkers, pauses to congratulate himself on the album’s progress, and tells a story about running a smear campaign against a wheelchair-bound opponent for high school class president. (One slogan was, “Vote for Anthony: His ideas have legs.”) But the jokes are so polished, his delivery so confident, and the routines so patently absurd that it’s difficult to actually despise Jeselnik’s despicable comedic persona. He’ll give audiences another chance to though with his new special, which he’s taping in 2012.
