Artist Arrington De Dionyso

Arrington De Dionyso is a Renaissance man in the truest sense. He is an artist, a teacher, and, most recognizably, a musician, leading Pacific Northwest time-travelers Old Time Relijun with his erratic voice and bouts of multi-instrumentation. Representing the spiritual underbelly of his home label, K Records, Dionyso’s solo work pushes the boundaries of free jazz with a cataclysmic force, taming the bass clarinet in unimaginable ways while gracefully mastering the ancient art of Tuvan throat singing. His latest, 2009’ Malaikat Dan Singa(Indonesian for lions and angels), mixes up post-punk, dub, and world-music influences into a hallucinogenic slab of otherworldly “trance punk” sung entirely in Indonesian.
