With its emphasis on chugging breakdowns and vocals running the gamut from ursine growls to hissy-fit screams, Britain’s Asking Alexandria wages a by-the-numbers metalcore assault similar to groups like The Devil Wears Prada, but distinguishes itself with a sprinkling of synthesizers and terrible lyrics, like this couplet from “Not The American Average”: “Take it all the way, / You stupid fucking whore.” Can’t get enough of that?
