Artist Authority Zero

Punk rock’s righteous blast has little use for subtlety, so you can forgive long-running Arizona band Authority Zero for titling 2010’s collection of stories of survival in the face of departing members, a disinterested recording industry, and a disintegrating economy, um, Stories Of Survival. After more than 15 years together, the band still piles the politics and urgency high while tempering its Epitaph-indebted sound with reggae and ska. With its lineup stabilized following the departure of founding guitarist Bill Marcks and drummer Jim Wilcox, Authority Zero looks to get back to pounding out power chords on the new Less Rhythm, More Booze.
