Awolnation

Aaron Bruno, the man behind the electro-rock outfit Awolnation, made a minor splash in 2006 as the frontman for the disco-infused Under The Influence Of Giants, but has since abandoned the retro feel for a more straightforward approach. The band’s debut album, Megalithic Symphony, is filled with heavy, hip-shaking beats, even if the lyrics leave something to be desired. Bruno’s vocals lapse more readily into hard-edged screams of party rocking rather than the classic Barry Gibb-esque falsetto of his previous project, but if party friendly electro-pop is what you’re looking for, Awolnation is worth a listen.
