Artist Azita

  • Azita Youssefi

Chicago-based songwriter Azita made waves with 2003’s Enantiodromia, showcasing a talent for passionate, piano-based songs with muscular vocals. She built up the sound further in 2004 with Life On The Fly, adding layers of melody and instrumentation that recalled early Tori Amos (though the former Scissor Girl might bristle at the comparison). Since then, she’s put out an EP of songs commissioned for a play called Detail From The Mountain Side and is now playing behind a new album called Disturbing The Air.
