Badfish
One of the most successful and critically acclaimed tribute acts in recent years, Badfish is a group of Rhode Island college friends who tour the country paying homage to Sublime, the now quasi-disbanded West Coast reggae-rock outfit whose career was cut short after the death of frontman Bradley Nowell. Badfish, whose name comes from a song on Sublime’s seminal debut, 40oz. To Freedom, channels the band’s eclectic style, which fused elements of ska, punk, reggae, hip-hop, and rap to create a unique sound that has become synonymous with the lifestyle of the California coastal region. For Sublime fans who never had the opportunity to see the band live, Badfish offers a solid, authentic alternative.
