Band Of Horses
After spending years in the shadows with the spell-checkless Seattle band Carissa’s Wierd, Ben Bridwell finally stepped up to the mic in 2006 with Band Of Horses, and has since delivered a trio of hyper-fine and understated albums: the widespread debut Everything All The Time—which included “The Funeral,” a song that popped up in numerous commercials and soundtracks—2007’s Cease To Begin, and 2010’s Infinite Arms. The long-awaited third album marks both the band’s departure from Sub Pop and a new, more permanent lineup that shares songwriting duties with sole founding member Bridwell. Not that it’s noticeable: Despite the presence of a few more straight-ahead rock numbers, Infinite Arms still channels twangy Americana through a gently indie sensibility.
