Bastard Sons Of Johnny Cash obviously weren’t trying to hide their musical influences when they picked their name. Led by singer-songwriter Mark Stuart, Bastard Sons pay tribute to country’s rough-and-ragged period both onstage and on record. Apparently, these bastards are doing something right: The San Diego outfit has been invited to open shows for Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, and its name was publicly approved by the Man In Black himself, years before his death.
