Bat For Lashes

Bat For Lashes is the working name for a witchy woman named Natasha Khan, who delves deep into elaborate worlds. Her sophomore album, Two Suns, features an alter-ego named Pearl— “a destructive, self-absorbed, blonde, femme fatale" foil to Khan's more mystical (and brunette) self. The music set Khan's voice amid rolling thunderclouds of electronic drums and washes of sizzling keyboards—many from her fellow tribesmen in Yeasayer, and the result comes off like a coy and cosmic mix of Scott Walker, Tori Amos, and Stevie Nicks.
