Beatallica
Beatallica mines an extremely narrow musical vein—Beatles covers done up as Metallica songs—but the Milwaukee-based spoof group gets every last bit of gold from the idea. The band followed up its 2007 full-length debut, Sgt. Hetfield's Motor Breath Pub Band, with the 2008 maxi-single “All You Need Is Blood,” which was intended as a thank-you release for fans worldwide: It has 13 different versions of the song in various languages, from English and Polish to South Korean and Estonian. 2009 saw the release of the band's sophomore album, Masterful Mystery Tour. Songs like "Got To Get You Trapped Under Ice" and "Fuel On The Hill" transcend the band's jokey concept with craftsmanship, attention to detail, and killer riffs that draw out some surprising parallels between The Fab Four and the thrash-metal giants.
