It’s no joke that Ben Roy’s website is benroyyellsalot.com—dude does yell a lot. His voice seems permanently set at a frustrated, unhinged pitch; his comedy is less punch line than it is a punch in the face. But there is a method to all of this, a wry humor that somehow comes off better and less bitchy at higher volumes. And he’s definitely starting to get heard: The Denver comic appeared at 2010’s well-respected Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, where he was then invited to perform on the Best Of The Fest showcase. His new CD, I Got Demons, recorded last year at Comedy Works in Denver, hit stores earlier this year.
