Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was featured in the 1996 film Swingers, and by the time the band was able to capitalize on its celebrity by releasing an album, swing and jump-blues had moved from underground hipster phenomenon to full-fledged fad. Like all trends, this one didn’t last, which explains why Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s more recent albums have failed to hit the big time. Still, the group is one of swing’s most reliable and popular purveyors, and it knows how to put on a live show. 2009’s How Big Can You Get?, a set of Cab Calloway covers, was the band's first release in five years.
