Big Daddy Kane

Big Daddy Kane rose to hip-hop prominence as an unusually smooth dude in the late ’80s, when his shiny rings and sex-drenched persona marked him as a man on the move. He drifted toward R&B in fits and starts, but he was also a sharp rapper who spat through verses with teeth bared. He mostly dropped off the radar after his late-’80s/early-’90s heyday, but his formidable MC skills and firm place in rap history have made him a collaborative draw for artists like Jurassic 5, RZA, and Busta Rhymes, among others.
