Blowoff

Blowoff

It’s funny to think that once upon a time, Bob Mould got mad at Spin magazine for outing him. But that was back when he was just alt-rock Bob fronting Sugar, years before he moved to New York, got all oonce-oonce, and made the electro-charged Modulate, an album that bummed out a good portion of his Hüsker Dü-loving fan base. He’s won a lot of his followers back with his past three rock-oriented albums—the latest is 2009's Life And Times—but he’s also developed a sizeable following in the gay clubbing scene with Blowoff, the monthly event he and Richard Morel began in their home base of Washington D.C. Now they’re throwing the party in different cities, which means bears all over the country get to see a shirtless Mould twiddling his DJ knobs.
