Bonnie Raitt

Bonnie Raitt

Bonnie Raitt might not enjoy being described as “classic,” but the tag fits: Trends have come and gone during the nearly 40 years she’s been playing, but Raitt’s take on rootsy blues has never gone completely out of style. Utilizing both Hammond organ and drum loops, Raitt’s 2005 album, Souls Alike, was both grittier and more progressive than her recent work, but live, she still relies on the guitar-based twang that made her famous. Her new release, Slipstream, was released last month to swift sales.
