Boston
Boston belongs to the canon of extremely accessible rock bands that populated the ’70s and currently represent a large, steadfast base of dad-rock radio stations. The band’s 1976 self-titled debut has sold more than 17 million copies—the second best-selling stateside debut after Guns N’ Roses’Appetite For Destruction. It’s easy to see why; even though the band is often a punchline to the era of the bloated dinosaur-rock act, songs like “More Than A Feeling” seem at once completely of their time and still listenable in the context of modern pop rock. Boston’s founder Tom Scholz revived a makeshift version of the band in early 2012 for a North American tour, and the promise of a tentative new album to go with it.
