Boyz II Men

While it’s certainly easy to hate on boy bands, we say the formerly fresh-faced teenagers, now fresh-faced middle-aged guys of Boyz II Men get a pass—that goes for everywhere, not just their hometown where the group and Motownphilly pretty much have a lifetime pass. Sure, the new jack swing of the group’s teenage years was eventually smothered by mushy balladry and bland overproduction (what 20something doesn’t have a memory of awkwardly slow-dancing at a middle-school dance to “On Bended Knee”?), but God knows that era gave the world “I’ll Make Love To You,” a.k.a. the world’s greatest karaoke song, so we can’t complain too much there, either.
