Boz Scaggs

An old lifer who served time in the Steve Miller Band before going solo in the late ’60s, Boz Scaggs is one of those guys who dot decades of rock history without leaving much of a mark. His self-titled 1969 album featured guitar ace Duane Allman and was produced by Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner, and his records since—the most recent of which is 2008’s Speak Low—are notable for their smart songwriting and Scaggs’ smooth, soulful voice. In 2006, the San Franciscan artist released the self-explanatory Hits!, which includes yacht-rock favorite “Lido Shuffle.”
