British Sea Power
Between live shows on the island of Sicily and the Great Wall, and releasing five full-length albums—including Man Of Aran, a soundtrack to a 1934 film of the same name—British Sea Power has been through a lot this last decade. Now, with the release of its latest full-length, Valhalla Dancehall, this East Sussex-based six-piece is turning its attention to what we’re all going through. As the driving, yet catchy anthem-like opening track to this album, “Who’s in Control” expresses the anxieties we are facing in today’s world. However, instead of sulking, British Sea Power offers an aphorism for activism: “It’s militant, not military.”
