Burning Spear
Burning Spear is one of reggae’s living legends, and not just because his name refers to a sparked-up joint. His recording career stretches back to the early ’70s, but his work today remains steady and reasonably progressive, delving into new realms of dub and remixing instead of simply rehashing the past. It’s not like Spear’s material isn’t recognizable as roots-reggae, but he still sounds in it for the right reasons. Burning Spear's latest recording is a 2008 album called Jah Is Real.
