Cap'n Jazz

Considering how antagonistic some of his music and performances have been over the past decade, it’s surprising to see Tim Kinsella give into nostalgia by reuniting Cap’n Jazz. He wordlessly dismissed an audience request for a couple of Cap’n Jazz songs while opening The Promise Ring’s reunion show in 2005, and Kinsella has spent most of his prolific artistic career experimenting with new projects far removed from his proto-emo roots. That’s not to discount the attractiveness of seeing Cap’n Jazz play again, years after breaking up in 1995 with only one album and a slew of miscellaneous songs to its name. Now’s the time to seize that nostalgia, though
