Artist Casper Bangs
The boy-meets-girl scenario is a common source of musical inspiration for many a singer-songwriter, but local act Casper Bangs takes the tale several steps further. Not only did Rob Pierangeli (formerly of The Hard Tomorrows) meet a girl, fall in love with her, and derive musical inspiration from her—he named his solo project after her, wrote an EP’s worth of indie-pop songs about her, and put her on its cover. Then, of course, the happy couple broke up before the record was released. The relationship may be over, but Casper Bangs' self-titled EP is a harmonious affair brimming with ringing guitars, crooning vocals, and, most importantly, lasting appeal.
