Artist Cealed Kasket
Heavy metal has been flirting with the world of wizards and warlocks ever since Robert Plant first cracked The Hobbit, and Chicago's Cealed Kasket aims to take that relationship to a parodic, party-inciting extreme. Claiming to be immortal cock-rockers from Bristol, England, the group celebrates both the groupie-rogering traditions of a First Wave of British Heavy Metal band on the road and the genre's varied medieval obsessions--hence tough-guy corpse vocalist Mortal Death and wizard guitarist Sir Sarsicus. Live, the band combines such tunes as "Backstage Sluttin'" and "Chivalry And Honor" with audience-participation antics, dividing the audience into three battling factions with red, brown, and gold Burger King-type crowns.
