Artist Centipede Eest

"Weird" does not begin to describe Centipede Eest, but it's a good start. The Pittsburgh band seems to approach its music like a blind man trying to make a simple grilled-cheese sandwich in a five-star kitchen. Fuzzed-out bass, steel drums, and guitars tormented by effects pedals are thrown together with wild abandon on records like the new 7-inch Metal Moon, and in front of audiences it gets considerably stranger. Funny, since the guys look like such nice, quiet, and "normal" boys. Centipede Eest is anything but—its members didn't even bother consulting a dictionary when naming themselves. The group released a new album, Resonator, in April.
