Colorado’s own Cephalic Carnage is one of those bands that protects grindcore and death metal from becoming formulaic: At their best, albums like 2007’s Xenosapien and 2010’s Misled By Certainty are heaps of slithering terror that at once shame the most spastic grinders and the most polished tech-death out there.
