Minnesota-born comic Chad Daniels has been gaining attention ever since a stand out performance on Comedy Central’s Live At Gotham in 2006. He was named the Comic’s Comic at the Aspen Comedy Festival, and he’s one of very few comics to boast taking the stage on the fatefully short-lived Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien. Oh, and his 2010 Comedy Central Presents special was voted No. 5 of all time. Truth be told though, while he hails from the Midwest, Daniels is the kind of comic who could have come up geographically anywhere. There’s nothing folksy or polite about what he’s doing, nothing even specifically Midwestern besides maybe hard work—and that’s a trait any successful person needs. If anything, it’s the cheeky, smirking acidity that draws you into Daniels, that and his affably down-to-earth delivery. Oh, and his willingness to rip apart himself and those dear to him; that’s funny too.
