Artist Chelsea Handler

New Jersey comedian Chelsea Handler is like a more palatable Kathy Griffin, only devoting her stand-up time to unapologetic jokes about balls and sex toys instead of dishing on how gay Clay Aiken is. Handler also skewers Hollywood, but it tends to be on her late-night E! talk show, Chelsea Lately, or gigs like her recent stumble as host of the 2010 MTV VMAs. Mostly, Handler pokes fun at herself: Her 2005 autobiographical My Horizontal Life: A Collection Of One-Night Stands and 2008’s Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea unflinchingly take stock of a series of saucy encounters. Her latest, Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang focuses more on Handler’s pranks and tall tales, but still makes room for the more personal, comedic essays of her previous work. She will turn in support of her latest book Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me, released in 2011.
