Artist Chicago Zine Fest

DIY publishers need attention, too. That’s why the Chicago Zine Fest matters. Zines have always had a place in the underground, but that’s about it. Catherine Zeta Jones won’t be spotted reading Cometbus poolside anytime soon. But that doesn’t matter, which is why each year, Chicago houses two straight days of celebration for the art of the zine. Topics of discussion vary from publishing and sexuality to youth reading. More than anything, it’s a cool reminder that workshops and inspirational chats with fellow zine-sters do actually inspire a craft that thrives on diversity.
