Chickenfoot

The term “supergroup” gets thrown around a lot, but like profanities, it gets watered-down the more it’s uttered. The emergence of a group like Tinted Windows—which joined Taylor Hanson, James Iha, and Cheap Trick’s Bun E. Carlos—helps make Chickenfoot a little less absurd. The group comprises Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony (Van Halen), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and guitarist Joe Satriani. As expected, the band’s music is a predictably bland mélange of bluesy wailing over fancy-shmancy guitar trickery and funky drumming. It’s not the most challenging stuff around, but obviously the band just wants to have fun.
