Artist Children Of Bodom

With a name derived from a 1960s triple homicide, Children Of Bodom have spent the last 15-plus years refining a potent strain of extreme metal. The core of singer-guitarist Alexi Laiho—whose ability screech like a banshee while delivering killer riffs never fails to impress—and keyboardist Janne Wirman create a unique and unmatched sound that’s incorporated elements of various strains of thrash, doom, and black metal over the years. Despite their propensity for the macabre (every album cover features a reference to the Grim Reaper), they have a lighter side as well, having recorded an album of cover songs that include hits such as Britney Spears’ “Oops, I Did It Again” and John Fogerty’s “Lookin’ Out My Back Door.” The band’s latest,Relentless Reckless Forever, even offered Children Of Bodom’s version of a party anthem in “Was It Worth It?”
