Chris Cornell
Alt-rock icon of the ’90s Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave) is borrowing a page from contemporary Eddie Vedder: chilled-out solo work. On his current tour, the 46-year-old Cornell won’t be debuting any earthier fare (ala Vedder); he’s simply giving his past work and a handful of covers the acoustic treatment. In related Gen-X news, grunge heroes Soundgarden—who reunited for last year’s Lollapalooza—have an album due out later this year. If the still-viable Robert Plant proves anything, it’s that the market for rock dinosaurs never goes extinct.
