Chris Smither

Chris Smither is a passionate, philosophical singer-songwriter who has mastered an approach to Delta blues that never seems forced, illegitimate, or condescending. Coming out of the ’60s blues revival, Smither is perhaps best known for songs he wrote for other artists, most notably Bonnie Raitt, who covered his “Love You Like A Man” and “I Feel The Same.” His most recent studio album, 2009’s Time Stands Still, includes a down-and-dirty cover of Bob Dylan’s “It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry.” A live disc, Lost And Found was released earlier this year.
