Circulatory System

A band that never spied a star trapping it didn’t shy away from, Olivia Tremor Control splintered in the face of a potential indie-rock eminence that never came to be. The group out-classed almost all of its peers in the psychedelic Elephant 6 scene, but with OTC long since put to pasture, fans have been left to decipher the oblique strategies of Circulatory System. Led by OTC mastermind Will Hart, the group hews toward darker, more spectral moods, with inward journeys through the vagaries of time and space. The band put out a strong self-titled debut in 2001, and it's finally back in action with a new album called Signal Morning. Circulatory System's live incarnation tends to turn up and rock louder and straighter than OTC ever did, which serves its floaty songs well.
