Clue
When Clue was released in 1985, it was a high-concept disaster for the ages, a goofy suspense comedy adapted from a popular board game. Curiously, the film featured three different endings, depending on which version (A, B, or C) the viewer chose to see. (Now screenings often include all three versions, but Paramount Pictures, in the most wishful of thinking, expected audiences to pay full price to catch each conclusion at a different venue.) Though a bomb at the time, Clue has gained a cult following over the years, and has even inspired an upcoming remake by Gore Verbinski. The Agatha Christie-inspired plot concerns a murder at Hill House, where any one of six guests—including favorites like Colonel Mustard (Martin Mull) and Professor Plum (Christopher Lloyd)—could be the culprit.
