Coheed And Cambria
Coheed And Cambria’s insane, sprawling, and occasionally comprehensible multi-album, sci-fi rock opera The Amory Wars came to a conclusion in 2007. But like George Lucas before him, Coheed frontman Claudio Sanchez couldn’t let his epic rest without a little backstory, releasing the Armory prequel Year Of The Black Rainbow in 2010. On their current tour, Sanchez and co. take another page from the Star Wars playbook, going back to where it all began with a full-album performance of their debut record, The Second Stage Turbine Blade. No worries about unnecessary, “Greedo shot first” revisions here—just the technical adventurousness and improbable falsetto vocals that established Coheed’s prog-emo vision, plus an acoustic set of other Armory highlights.
