Artist Communist Daughter

Despite already building up a name for himself in heralded Twin Cities band Friends Like These, when frontman Johnny Solomon came out of a musical hiatus, he chose to name his new band Communist Daughter with the intent of becoming a Neutral Milk Hotel tribute. Even without that name recognition, once the band began playing its own songs, a crowd was bound to gather. Blame that on the infectious melodies littered up and down the band’s 2010 debut Soundtrack To The End, like the hush strumming buzz of the title track and similar “Speed Of Sound” that finds Solomon’s modest mumble lifted by supporting vocal harmonies.
