Copeland

For the past 10 years, Copeland has played the kind of good-natured, slick, wide-eyed guitar-pop that suburban parents could approve of—and although its members have frequently stated that Copeland is not a “Christian band,” being part of the Tooth And Nail roster certainly hasn’t hurt its standing with the churchgoing crowd. With its enticing melodies, mesmerizing pretty-boy harmonies, tasteful string arrangements, and lyrics preaching semi-profound life lessons, Copeland aims for a sense of “pleasant and polite” more than any sort of rock ’n’ roll danger, which makes the news that the band has decided to amicably go its separate ways at the end of its current farewell tour all the more believable.
