Cork 'N Bottle String Band
Cork ’N Bottle String Band took its name from a local liquor store and recently released a documentary about its eternal love of performing at long-ago closed Madison favorite Ken’s Bar & Grill. Similar booze-inspired shenanigans show up onstage too, but that only makes the band more and more likable, since it simply refuses to recognize how great of a bluegrass band it really is. Though it lost its “home” at Ken’s more than eight years ago, Cork ’N Bottle keeps smiling through regular, infectious sets filled with daredevil banjo, whistling strings, thumping bass, and wide grins while churning out more “slapstick bluegrass.”
