Crooked Fingers
For a couple of records now, Eric Bachmann—a.k.a. Crooked Fingers—has seemed on the verge of something bigger than the cult audience that has followed him since leading seminal ’90s indie band Archers Of Loaf. Dropping the Crooked Fingers moniker for an album, Bachmann released To The Races under his own name in 2006, but reactivated Crooked Fingers with 2008’s fantastic and eclectic Forfeit/Fortune. After releasing last year’s limited, vinyl-only Reservoir Songs Vol. 2 EP, Bachmann and the band are currently touring in support of Breaks In The Armor, their recently released Merge LP. The new record achieves a rare balance of toe-tapping jams with deeply haunting, stripped-down tracks.
