D12

After topping the Billboard Charts with 2001’s Devil’s Night and 2004’s D12 World, it seemed like Detroit-based rap crew D12 went to rust alongside famed member Eminem’s own musical hiatus. Following his resurgence into the rap mainstream, though, D12 has staged its own comeback. With a third album in the works and a new member, Fuzz Scoota, rounding out the cast, the group has returned with more of its familiar blend of unrelenting, in-your-face rhymes and dark humor. Even so, if its new freestyle single, “Killzone,” is any indictator, the new material is a welcome far cry from any of the “Purple Hills”-era jetsam of D12’s early career.
