Dashboard Confessional

A godlike savior to his fans and a baffling pussy to his detractors, Dashboard Confessional frontman Chris Carrabba has been a polarizing figure since quasi-inspiring the emo movement with 2002’s terrible anthem “Screaming Infidelities.” (“Your hair, it’s everywhere / Screaming infidelities!”) And 2009’s Alter The Ending did nothing to change that dynamic. Dashboard loyalists will find comfort listening to Carrabba alternate between whispering and passionate wailing, linking emotional lyrics with pop sensibilities, while others will continue to hear Carrabba’s voice and shudder at the shrillness. This time around, Carrabba’s touring behind a solo record, Covered In The Flood, released under his own name. Made up of covers of artists like The Replacements and Justin Townes Earle, the record will be exclusively available on this tour.
