When he's not explaining how he lost 300 pounds of frozen meat or interviewing rabid Chick-fil-A fans for This American Life, bipolar comedian Dave Hill can be found playing the struggling host of an untelevised late-night TV show called The Dave Hill Explosion. Recent guests joining him onstage include such luminaries as Dick Cavett and Gordon Gano of The Violent Femmes. Now that he's back from extensive touring with his straight-faced power-pop outfit Valley Lodge, he's available for one-man shows as well, serving up twitchy, rambling narratives about life on the road in his alternately rocking and mocking Dave Hill: Big In Japan.
