David Liebe Hart

Making a living as a street performer is a tough racket, especially for those of the Christian ventriloquist ilk. Remarkably, David Liebe Hart stuck it out for decades and has now become a cult icon. Hart gained some fame teaching bible stories on L.A.’s public-access television shows since the ’80s, with segments featuring his creepy puppets and songs. These shows were later discovered by comedy duo Tim And Eric, who then featured Hart on their super-warped sketch show, Tim And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! Hart’s non-secular, Casio-led songs about his alleged alien abduction became viral hits, and soon Hart was touring the country with the duo. Hart continues to churn out cassettes of new material and recently embarked on a tour with fellow public-access host, Adam Papagan, and their new punk-rock band.
