Artist Dead To Me

San Francisco’s Dead To Me picks up where punk rock left off decades ago—long before the music and its premise were watered down by subgenres and haircuts—when it was brutal, thought-provoking, and misunderstood. With its first two full-length albums, the band has staked out a place in modern times with its crisp basslines, impeccable timing, and a sense of responsibility for the larger world. Dead To Me’s forceful, doubled-up vocals touch on influences like Glenn Danzig, Joey Ramone, Jello Biafra, and even Fat Wreck Chords honcho Fat Mike—and it’s these ideas and influences of the past that form Dead To Me’s pure, no-bullshit punk rock. The band has a new album, Moscow Penny Ante, coming out this week.
