Artist Delorean

Barcelona outfit Delorean pours a great deal of finesse onto the wide canvasses of dance music and synth-pop, finding openness where trendy bands often find shriveled potential and hum-drum repetition. Delorean’s take on Balearic house and half-shy pop vocals doesn’t break the mold so much as it packs more detail into it. 2010’s Subiza feels dense, driving, and full of fluffy breezes all at once. The tracks pack in synth arpeggios and all manner of electronic whoops and bleats that help the middling hooks feel more focused. Songs like “Warmer Places” and “It’s All Ours” fuel a rather ballsy Iberian beach party.
