Artist Dex Romweber Duo

Dexter Romweber is best known as the standing-up half of pioneering rock outfit Flat Duo Jets, a twosome that was knocking out bluesy rock when Jack White was still in elementary school. (White, not surprisingly, cites Romweber as a major influence.) These days, Romweber and his sister Sara—who has a respectable CV herself with Mitch Easter in Let’s Active—kick out energetic, countrified rockabilly as the Dex Romweber Duo. Recorded at the studio of Southern Culture On The Skids mastermind Rick Miller, DRD’s new Is That You In The Blue? finds plenty of inspiration in the margins of society and genre, stirring up 14 primordial tracks that ought to be in the collection of every noir-obsessed vinyl fiend.
