Direct Hit

Pop-punk outfit Direct Hit started out as a side project for Nick Woods of Madison-Milwaukee band The Box Social. But when the Social broke up in 2008, Woods decided to devote more attention to Direct Hit, carrying on with the rambunctious guitar rock of his former band. The group released five digital EPs called #1#2#3#4 and #5. Woods likened the gradual roll out of new material to comic books, “but with more flagrant self-promotion.” The band is having a similarly prolific 2011, releasing split 7-inches with Tit Patrol and the Jetty Boys and a full-length, Domesplitter, packed energy blasts like “Snickers Or Reese’s (Pick Up The Pieces)” and “Kingdom Come.”
