Laptop wizard Jimmy Tamborello—a.k.a. Dntel—has made a career out of crafting warm but glitchy electronic pop compositions and pairing them with guest vocals from some of indie rock’s finest. The most famous of these collaborations, The Postal Service, with Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard, is rightly considered something of a classic, but Tamborello’s body of work goes much deeper than that. His debut, Life Is Full Of Possibilities, is equally worthy of attention from anyone seeking a similar, albeit slightly different, vein of pop-meets-IDM synthesis, and his later works, through last year’s pair of instrumental EPs, After Parties 1 and2, continue to develop his engaging and unique sound.
