Dredg

Dredg is a California group that dabbled in nü-metal before reconfiguring itself as a neo-prog band spiked with eerie, foreign-language vocals and atmospheric piano interludes. 2009’s The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion was filled with 18 overblown tracks that encompassed everything from children’s choirs to chugga-chugga metal riffs to lyrics inspired by Salman Rushdie poems. This month’s Chuckles And Mr. Squeezy—produced by Dan The Automator—seems just as absurd, in entirely new ways.
